Algeria Assembly Plant

The company has established an assembly plant in Algeria to cater to the local market and neighbouring countries. Mr. L.D. Mittal is the founder & Chairman of Sonalika Group, a prominent player in the global agriculture sector. A visionary and a renowned expert fondly known as ‘The Tractor Titan’ is a man of many hues. Mr. Mittal incorporated Sonalika Group in 1969 for manufacturing farm implements. With a belief to serve the farming community of India with technologically superior products, he has grown this company into a multinational corporation, which stands strong as 3rd largest tractor player in India.

A gold medalist from Punjab University, with dual postgraduate degrees in English and Urdu, Mr. Mittal's passion and dedication to serve the farming community has been the driving force in the success of the company. In order to provide the complete agriculture solution, Mr. Mittal ventured into tractor manufacturing in 1996 and established Sonalika tractors.

Exhibiting inspiring innovations and entrepreneurial skills, Mr. Mittal applied the advanced technologies for designing heavy duty tractors customized for the needs of the farmers globally. These tractors are manufactured at the World’s No.1 largest integrated tractor manufacturing plant strategically located in Hoshiarpur, Punjab.

Mr. Mittal is a rare combination of poetic and entrepreneurial talent. He often recites a famous verse of the great Urdu poet, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Mein Akela Hi Chala Tha Janebe Manzil Magar- Humsafar Milte Gaye Aur Karwan Banta Gaya (I had started all alone towards the destination people joined me on the way to make it a big caravan).

His endeavors, business acumen and philanthropy have been recognized by the corporate arena and the government through industry-level representations and awards. He has received several honors including the prestigious ˜Pride of the Nation, Udhyog Ratna, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, 2006 award. Apart from these, the Unnat Bharat Seva Shri Puruskar for outstanding services in agriculture and the Agriculture leadership award for his outstanding entrepreneurial achievements in the field of agriculture, are also few of the many feats to his credit. He was previously the Honorary Consulate General of the Embassy of Macedonia, the President of Indian Tractor Manufacturers Association, Co-Chairman of ICCI Expert Committee on Agriculture, Member of National Council, CII, Member of Development Council for Automobile & Allied Industries, Government of India, Member of CII National Committee on World Trade Organization and member of Managing Committee of Bharati Vidyapeeth University.

Dr. Mittal started his career with manufacturing of farm equipment with a vision to contribute to the development of the agriculture industry by offering complete farming solution. On this footprint, group forayed into tractor manufacturing and produced its first “Sonalika” tractor in 1996, and its immediate sale imbued him the importance of excellent customer relationships.

Following this customer oriented approach and with the trust of over 1.7 Million satisfied customers across the world, he has headed the ITL brand to stand as the No.1 Indian tractor exporter and this act as an enabler for setting up the World's No.1 largest Integrated Tractor Manufacturing Plant in Hoshiarpur, Punjab with an annual production capacity of 300,000 tractors resulting this, today, ITL become the 3rd largest manufacturer and supplier of Tractor & Agri machinery in India and top 5th across the globe.

ITL is offering complete agricultural solutions to the global farming community under the brand name of “Sonalika” & “Solis”. The group unflinchingly maintains international standards in product manufacturing, and the company's partnership with one of the global pioneers like Yanmar (Japan) reflects this commitment.

Dr. Mittal signed off strategic investment in the Netherlands to strengthen its global footprint in the presence of Prime Minister of Netherlands, Mr Mark Rutte. As a result, the company has two dutch subsidiary companies named Solis Tractors & Agricultural Machinery BV and Solis Naturals BV ( A Yoga & Meditation Studio)., having its presence and offices in south Amsterdam.

Dr. Mittal measures success in terms of holistic happiness and healthy living & therefore, he founded Divine Soul Yoga (DSY) in 2019. Intending to provide holistic life-altering wellness solutions to the people, he has specially curated Bliss Meditation sessions based on his own experiences followed by various ancient sciences - Divine Healing, Laughter Therapy and physical yoga asanas.
